This policy is considered by the community and its leadership to be the status quo of Battlestar Wiki Media and is not to be countermanded or ignored, though changes to it can be discussed on the appropriate talk page. This policy was implemented on 14 April 2005. |
The audio tagging policy deals with the proper identification, categorization and tagging of audio files used in the wiki. For the policy on proper audio use on this wiki, click here.
Audio Tags
Fair use
Since Battlestar Wiki Media doesn't actually own the rights to Battlestar Galactica, these audio clips fall under the fair use clause of United States copyright law. Thus all these tags reflect this.
- For the original series:
- {{Mp3 TOS audio}} - Used for tagging Mp3 files related audio clips. All audio files are placed under Category:Audio clips (TOS).
- {{Mp3 SBW TOS audio}} - Used for tagging Mp3 that are recorded by users. These audio files are copyrighted to the Battlestar Wiki and the user who created them. They are part of the Battlestar Wiki:Audio Development project. All audio files are placed under Category:Spoken Battlestar Wiki (TOS).
- For Galactica 1980:
- {{Mp3 1980 audio}} - Used for tagging Mp3 files related audio clips. All audio files are placed under Category:Audio clips (1980).
- For the re-imagined series:
- {{Mp3 RDM audio}} - Used for tagging Mp3 files related audio clips. All audio files are placed under Category:Audio clips (RDM).
- {{Mp3 SBW RDM audio}} - Used for tagging Mp3 that are recorded by users. These audio files are copyrighted to the Battlestar Wiki and the user who created them. They are part of the Battlestar Wiki:Audio Development project. All audio files are placed under Category:Spoken Battlestar Wiki (RDM).
