Barbara is a nurse paid by Gaius Baltar to look after his father, Julius Baltar, prior to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. She leaves this position after Julius slices her right forearm with a steak knife, claiming that she stole money from him. Gaius' desperate offer to pay her a "thousand frakking cubits to stay the night" falls upon deaf ears, resulting in her being the third nurse to have abandoned the caretaking position as Julius' caretaker ^{(TRS: "Daybreak, Part I")}.
