Lieutenant "Karma" Baker is a Raptor pilot on stationed aboard battlestar Galactica who, according to Alex "Crashdown" Quartararo, is reputed to be unlucky.

Baker is assigned to fill in for Sharon "Boomer" Valerii after her gunshot injury and pilots Raptor 1 as part of a survey expedition to Kobol. Raptor 1 is shot down by Cylon forces that orbit the planet; a round hits Baker and mortally wounds him in the ensuing interception, forcing Quartararo attempt a crash landing ^{(TRS: "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I")}.

His body is burned in the fire from the resultant explosion ^{(TRS: "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II")}.

Notes

In a deleted scene from "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I," Quartararo expresses apprehension before embarking on the recon mission to Kobol, saying he hates flying with Baker because he's "bad luck". As it turns out, Quartararo's fears were well-founded.
His name and rank come from the nameplate on the side of the crashed Raptor 1. The first name is obscured by crash damage.
